Sino Online Communication:  Children Social Emotional Development

In order to better understand children, systematically recognize the law of children's development, and serve the healthy growth and happy life of children, our school has invited Dr. Carola D 'Emery and Ms. Kathleen V. Flatley from the United States to give online psychology special training to school teachers.

In the morning of March 19, 2021, Chengdu Shuangliu Experimental Primary School Education Group member schools and Chengdu University of Information Technology Experimental School participated in the training. Yan Jin, vice principal, hosted the online international training.

Objectives and contents of this online training:

1. To learn what is Social Emotional Development and why it is important.

2. To identify some of the most important social emotional skills and their acquisition from birth to12 years of age.

3. To understand how the environment shapes this learning process.

Through 1.5 hours lecture, our teachers realized that social emotional development is a learning process. In this process, children are able to identify and understand their own emotions, accurately interpret the emotional states of others, manage and express strong emotions in a constructive manner, regulate behavior, develop empathy, and establish and maintain relationships.

The development of children's behavior and emotions is of great importance to both school work and daily life.
